About the Event
This class will include recipes and discussions on the science of baking and making pastry cream.
Ingredients you will need:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 vanilla bean (1 teaspoon vanilla extract to substitute)
- 6 egg yolks
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tablespoons flour
- For chocolate pastry cream, we will use vanilla + the addition of 5 ounces of semi sweet chocolate
Kitchen equipment needed:
- 1 medium sized sauce pan
- 1 whisk
- 1 medium/large sized mixing bowl
- plastic wrap
- casserole dish (or similar) for chilling pastry cream
- Flour sifter
